Our history
Hello. My name is Pablo Lodeiros. I am the fourth generation of Bodegas Lodeiros, and I want to share with you the history of my family. The history of Bodegas Lodeiros.
1910
Our story begins in 1910 when my great-grandfather, Manuel Lodeiros, established his business in a small village in rural Galicia called León de Abaixo, in the municipality of Arzúa. In those years, survival in the countryside was challenging. In addition to farming, my great-grandfather sold wine that he would fetch from Ribeiro. It took them several days to travel the roughly 100 kilometers that separated them from the banks of the Miño River, using mule-drawn carts. These were tough journeys, but they helped strengthen the bond with his son, José, who often accompanied him. It was during those trips that I am sure the foundations of Bodegas Lodeiros were laid:

Years later, in the 1940s, my grandparents José and Manuela moved to Santiago de Compostela. There, in addition to establishing the winery, they opened a wine shop on the ground floor of their house at number 32 on Rúa de San Pedro. During these years, José, a very restless and enterprising person, began developing various wine products. This would result in several recipes for making liqueurs and vermouth that we still use today as references.
1950
In Santiago, in addition to the winery, my grandparents started their family. They had six children, of whom Luis, my father, would follow in my grandfather’s footsteps, becoming the third generation of the winery. Under his leadership, the winery took a significant leap that allowed us to expand beyond Galicia and share what we were doing with an increasingly wider audience.

And after the third generation, if nothing goes wrong, the fourth usually follows. And here we are, living in a world where almost everything has changed. Little remains of that village in rural Galicia where Bodegas Lodeiros was born. We live in a very different world, but we have kept intact those values upon which my great-grandfather built his way of life and the reasons behind what we do:
Enjoying time with our loved ones around a table.
